The Story

Mud, but make it shine

Portrait with a finished piece

Shiny Mud started with a wobbly first bowl and a feeling I couldn’t shake — that turning a lump of mud into something beautiful is the best kind of magic. Now I make and teach ceramics in Whistler, BC.

Everything in the shop is thrown, trimmed, glazed, and fired by my own two hands. The jewelry is made from the same stoneware as the mugs — little wearable pieces of the mountains.

When I’m not at the wheel you’ll find me on it — the other kind, on the trails. Come get muddy with me.

FAQ

When do new pieces drop?

Roughly every 4–6 weeks, whenever the kiln gives up the goods. Drop dates are announced on the homepage, Instagram, and the mailing list — list subscribers get the link an hour early.

Do you ship? How much is it?

Yes — Canada-wide, $15 flat rate and free over $150. Local pickup in Whistler is always free. US/international shipping is quoted per order; just ask.

Is your jewelry heavy or fragile?

Lighter than you’d think! Ceramic earrings are surprisingly featherweight. They’re tougher than they look, but like all ceramics they won’t love being dropped on tile.

I’ve never touched clay. Can I take a class?

That’s exactly who classes are for. Every workshop is beginner-friendly and everything you need is included — clay, tools, firing, glazing, and an apron.

What happens to what I make in class?

It gets dried, fired, and glazed over the following 2–3 weeks, then you pick it up (or we ship it). You’ll get an email the moment it’s out of the kiln.

Do you take custom orders?

Sometimes! Custom work opens and closes depending on the season. Send a note through the contact page with what you’re dreaming of.

What’s your cancellation policy for classes?

Full refund up to 48 hours before your session. Inside 48 hours you can transfer your spot to a friend or credit it to a future date.
